In today’s business world, everyone is busy looking for the next big thing or looking to get ahead. Old fashioned hard work and dedication will help you for so long. As a society, we have forgotten some basic human principles, that if everyone reading this simply implemented one of these suggestions and used it in their everyday life, it would begin an incredible movement both in all of our personal and professional lives. For instance:
1. Do Something Just Because
Whether at work or at home, when you have the opportunity to do something nice for someone, especially when there is “nothing in it for you”, DO IT! The benefits are endless, especially for your peers, management team and even friends and family. The feeling you get when someone does something genuine for you is irreplaceable. It can be as simple as delivering copies or faxes, cleaning up a conference room after a meeting or even taking out the garbage for your spouse.
2. Make A Random Call To A Customer
Call a customer that you may not have spoken to awhile and check-in on them. Make the call to a customer who recently made a purchase or who worked with your organization 4 or 5 months ago to see how business is going. The simple fact that you called the customer to ask them how they were feeling or enjoyed your services makes a lasting impression to an individual.
3. Pay Someone A Genuine ComplimentImagine having a conversation with a peer who is preparing a very important proposal and presentation for prospective clients. He admits to you that he is struggling to complete the program and corresponding presentation. The long hours he is putting into his work are taking its toll and the frustration is settling. The irony is that he has successfully completed and facilitated several presentations like this in the past. You say to him “You are such a talented and effective presenter, who immediately captivates a room when you begin speaking. You’ve always done such a great job and I sure this time will be no different”! What just took place? You complimented him on all of the skills necessary to complete the task that he is working on. You also gave him a great and much appreciated boost in confidence that reassures him that he CAN do this because he has done it before!
These simple actions go a long way in creating a HUGE impact in the relationship in your personal and professional life. This is the beginning of an endless list of actions, which cost you nothing other than a few moments of time and leave a lasting impression on the person. We are losing sight of the importance and benefits of establishing personal relationships. If you take the time to simply “Do the Right Thing”, your business and personal lives will flourish!
According
to a variety of sources, the South Florida Housing Market has hit bottom.
Zillow.com is reporting that home prices in South Florida have not
only leveled off, but are actually starting to go up. Optimist report
that the average price has gone up 1% from last year, which is now averaging
$141,000 in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Zillow is
expecting prices may actually climb 6% next year
Along
with what many feel is very good news, there is also concern that there may be
another wave of bank owned homes getting ready to flood the market. What
does this mean to the consumer looking to purchase a home? NOW IS THE
TIME TO BUY! Expectations are very low that prices will either grow or
drop drastically over the course of the next year, making it an opportune time
for those in the market for a home.
Prices
for homes in South Florida, especially in Broward and Palm Beach counties have
dropped as low as 50%, while condos are believed to have dropped by as much as
60%. Investors who are willing to pay cash for homes have taken advantage
of the home price stabilization and are aggressively purchasing homes.
For
the individual looking to purchase a home for themselves, it is a perfect
opportunity, especially if you are looking to live in the home for at least 8
years. Home values have climbed in 21 of 32 Broward county cities
according to Zillow, including Ft. Lauderdale, Deerfield Beach and Oakland
Park. Consumers should act sooner if they feel they have found the home
they like as competition and bidding wars have started on homes as the supply
of available homes in our market is shrinking.

On Saturday May 19th, Pembroke Pines will participate in a national effort to reclaim its parks with play, sports and family activities. This day was created to inspire and motivate kids to spend time outdoors, in healthy recreation and good "ole fashion" fun. To celebrate the day, the city is offering free tennis clinics from 9am - 12 noon on May 19th at the following locations:
- Pembroke Lakes Tennis Center: 10500 Taft Street
- Paul J. Maxwell Tennis Center: 1200 72nd Avenue
- Towngate: 901 NW 155th Avenue
- Silverlakes South: 17601 SW 2nd Street
- Silverlakes North: 2300 NW 172nd Street

There will also be free swimming lessons from noon until 6pm on the same day at the following locations:
